Informal public viewing

Recommended for younger children.

This is available after all our BASICS meetings at St Peters Church Hall. We have no formal finishing time, so if the sky is clear we can stay outside viewing until late if the weather allows. The dates are the same as for the astrobasics meetings and viewing takes place close to the meeting room. Light pollution is not an issue for first time viewing of the sky. There are many bright easy objects which are impressive viewed for the first time even when viewed from town centres. Remember that from April to September the daylight will last until quite late.

Remember also there are other astronomy societies in the area who organize similar viewing sessions and their websites are listed on the resources page.
