Jupiter at Opposition
The largest planet has a favourable opposition in 2010 as it's close to perihelion in its orbit (closest point to the Sun) in March 2011.
Opposition (closest to Earth and opposite the Sun in the sky) is due on September 21st but you already cannot miss the planet shining very brightly in the south east after dark. It is in Pisces, below the great square of Pegasus.
Coincidentally Uranus is at opposition within a few hours of Jupiter and can be seen in binoculars less than a degree above Jupiter on the 21st.
